->> From the Columbus area:
Take US-33 E approximately 68 miles from I-270, driving through Lancaster, Logan, Nelsonville, and The Plains, passing the first OH-682 exit. After US-33 E joins US-50 W in Athens, take Exit 17, for OH-682 N. Turn right at the first traffic light, onto Richland Avenue, to cross the Hocking River and enter the Ohio University campus.
Continue on Richland Avenue, which becomes President Street, and turn LEFT on S. Court Street. Drive one block and turn RIGHT on E. Union Street. Drive 1.5 blocks and turn LEFT into first driveway/parking lot entrance on left. Follow until you arrive at Segfred Hall on your RIGHT. Mitchell Auditorium is just to the LEFT as you enter the building.

->> Garret and others -
Roberts directions are really good. If that lot is full, however, consider going this alternate way:
It's a wierd setup this Seigfred place is... going Robert's way you will end up on the parking lot that leads to the 5th floor entrance, right where you want to be for the talk. If that lot is full, however, there's another parking lot behind Seigfred Hall which enters on the 1st floor. To get there:
Go back out of the lot the way you came to Union St, RIGHT on Union to College St. (first light), RIGHT on College. Continue to Mill St. and take a RIGHT. You'll go down a rather steep hill on Mill St. and continue to where you'll see a green university parking sign near a small street (I don't think it has a name), take a RIGHT at that green sign and that will take you to a large parking lot behind Seigfred (the old 5 floored building, again you can't miss it). If you reached N. McKinley St, you have gone too far on Mill.
Bottom line... having a map might be handy. :-) Robert's maps that he made up are very helpful. Here's the official clickably-interactive map the university has on their website. Also below is a link to a picture of what Seigfred looks like.

Also as a last resort, the Athens City Garage is located at the corner of Washington and College Streets... impossible to miss. It's a short walk to Seigfred. Parking is metered... fines aren't hefty... only $5 for an expired meter. So you can consider parking it, put in just a few coins, leave it, and forget about it. Better than feeding the dang thing all night.
Also keep in mind that most University lots become open to the public (no permit needed) at 5pm... and the parking people in Athens aren't always forgiving. Just a small warning... hopefully there will be no problems.
Looking forward to seeing you, Garrett. Any questions... shoot me a line or give me a call.

->> Dam I wish I could make it.
The time Dave Black spent on my Portfolio at the Luau was worth the trip to LA and his knowledge is amazing!
But really any excuse to leave Manitoba in the middle of winter is a good one! (as long as yur not going to Regina) |

This presentation is open to ALL! Not just students...not just SS members...EVERYONE!
Hope to see you there!
PS-Parking would be best on the streets (free after 5) or in the garage (metered).
