1: New England Patriots / Gillette Stadium
2: Lots of ethernet jacks in the photo work room
3: No cost, if you get there in time to get an ethernet jack (often someone will have a hub anyway, or let you on if you need to) |

2-Probably about 20-30 ethernet jacks in the Photo workroom and more in the press box, but your field pass doesn't get you in the press room. I've heard that they have wireless too, but never got the chance to try it.
3-No cost that I know of. |

#1 New York Jets and New York Giants/ Meadowlands
#2 No high speed
#3 Last year a plan to get all NY NJ papers to split the costs of a T-1 line fell through because lack of season long events at stadium. However across the street at the Continental Airlines arena where this plan did go through costs about 500 bucks per paper per year. Of course the cost is more if papers pull out and less for everyone paying for the line if more join.
Rumors that the media putting pressure on all teams will most likely have free high speed in by end of season or beginning of next but I’m not holding by breath

->> 1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers/Raymond James Stadium
2) Ethernet ports in the photo workrooms (I think 16.) Sometimes a paper will have a WiFi router but ask first.
3) Free! Or atleast it has been the last two seasons. I missed Monday's game so can't tell you this year's policy. |

->> Rod-
1. Carolina Panthers/Bank of America Stadium (new name this year)
2. Two high speed lines dropped to two seperate hubs with eight ports each. One hub goes in the photo darkroom area where AP and larger member papers huddle. The other hub lives in the outter press room where there's more room and more people working. Also in this larger room are a number of dial-up lines that can be used.
3. Free-first come/first served as of last season. Folks have to share-so play nice. I will check tonight at first pre-season game for any changes. I hear all the IT guys at the stadium are new this season.
Note-It's a great idea that this information is updated in the Guide so we all have easy access. Please update! Thanks for this effort Rod. Let's try and do the same to all NBA, MLB and even college venues and make The Guide a working, trusted journal. If a member is working at the hometown newspaper or wire service of a major sporting venue where out of town media come even occasionally, please make this addition in the Guide. Thanks, Bob Leverone |

I haven't looked in the guide yet, but does anyone know about Ford Field, Soldier Field, the Chargers and Rams? |

It was free.
Perimeter of room is countertop with ports every 4 or 5 feet. Probably at least 20 ports.
There are also lockers available - bring your own lock (I think). |

I was just at Soldier Field a few weeks ago. The deal, at least for the Champions World Soccer Tour, was you had to pay for the internet. A high speed line, with "set up" fee was like $350 for the game (ouch!). They kept saying WiFi was not allowed, claiming it screwed up the TV productions guys.
Also, most data cell phones do not seem to work in the stadium. My Verizon cell phone and T-Mobile cell phone could not connect (the VZW one could not even seem to make out going calls in 90% of the stadium). |

->> Rod,
The HHH Metrodome has to be among the worst places to transmit from in the NFL. I'm glad I can just drive home and transmit from there.
For those unfortunate souls that must use the facilities there, the first base dugout area has phone lines and a high speed link. I believe the AP is the owner of the ethernet link, but both area newspapers have tapped into it. The Star-Trib has a airport base wired into theirs.
If you are from out of town and want access to these, I'd try contacting Jim Mone at AP/Minneapolis, or Brian Peterson at the Star-Tribune. They're good guys and I'm sure they'll do their best to help.
Cheers,
Tom |

->> Indianapolis-
To my suprise there is NOwhere to transmit from! Most photogs get field level access only and there are NO phone lines, data ports anywhere! Unless you can get press box access you'll have to beg either the local paper (Indy Star) or AP to use their facilities. The Indy Star has wireless in their office but you must ask them to use it. But the field level photog room has very little if any media imenities to speak of(besides food) |

Cleveland's high speed has to be set up in advance for a fat little fee. If I'm at the game and have my airport set up, ask me for the password.
Cincinnati has free high speed but Mac users need to jump through a few hoops. Check the guide for the entry I put in about it.
Indianapolis has free wireless on the field that is best reached on the visitors sideline.
Anyone know if Steven's entry for Chicago is the same for Bears games? |

->> Indianapolis' wireless seems to have problems, the first week I got on fine once I got on the visitor's side, but the last game I kept getting kicked off. I think they have some bugs to work out.
After the game I wound up at the Best Western lobby transmitting with Frakes and Spurlock. Much more comfortable there but a little bit of a walk, not bad though. It's fast, free and better than sitting on the turf (comfy seats and a big screen TV) |

At Lambeau, I was told that Internet could be set up for a fee...in the realm of a few hundred dollars (I'm not sure if that was for the game or the season though). There was a nice photo work room, and it seemed that there were phone lines in there. There are network jacks there too, but none of them seemed to be live. |

Free WIRELESS ONLY high-speed access in the ground floor photo work area, just off of the 50-yard line tunnel on the press box side of the stadium.
The seating in the photo workroom is somewhat limited, so be aware of that, but hey, it's free, so that's a good thing. So is the inedible photographers food. Eat early or late but not at the game.
Cheerleaders still stand in front of photographers in the end zones when the ball is inside the 20-yard line. |

Media parking on southwest side right next to field. Valet service provided as courtesy only to photographers, free of charge. High speed internet - no charge for a line,in fact they will cut you a check just for walking in. Filet Mignon for pre and post game meals, Dom Perignon at the door. No TV networks, no dish guys, no cable pullers, no security guys, no one to get in the way of that great shot. And you can shoot all you want inside the team area. Foot rubs and back massages before you leave.
And your own personal cheerleader.
Please know I don't mean to make light of the situation, just need a little humor here and there. After all, I'm still down here.
Thanks again for all the support I've gotten here on SS. See you all when we reopen for next season. |

->> Thomas, et al.,
I'd update the guide on this...but my information is dismal, and I would hate to depress anybody.
SUN DEVIL STADIUM, Tempe, AZ:
Photo Work Area: There isn't one, per se. The AP has a trailer. The newspapers work underneath the bleachers in the North End Zone. Visitors that need to transmit end up in one of these places for the most part.
Transmitting: There is no Wi-Fi in the stadium that I am aware of. There is generally an open phone-line in the Press Box, however NFL Photo credentials say something about pre-game Press Box access only.
Lighting: At night, it's dark. :P Seriously, you can get away with 500/2.8 at ISO1000, but you'll be slightly underexposed. It's more like ISO1250 or 1600. However, I have shot there at 500/2.8 at ISO800 in the past...but I cannot tell what has changed this season. |

->> Well Nick You're wrong
Sun Devil Stadium Tempe Arizona Arizona Cardinals and ASU Sun Devils. Associated Press has connections available for members. Their work area is on the Northeast upper level on the ramp for spectators.
Under the bleachers on the south side of the stadium there is WiFi available with a password. It actually is the wifi for Wells Fargo Arena I think. I transmitted from there last week during the ASU LSU game. The Arizona Republic uses it, too, however they said they were getting a weak signal. I was getting a strong signal. You have to jump through some hoops to use it, but the time savings is worth it.
Glendale Arena is Wifi for Coyotes Hockey, and America West Arena (NBA, WNBA Boxing, etc) is Wifi in the press room.
Bank One Ballark is phone lines. One of these days Arizona will have a professional baseball team again. Go D-backs |

->> Well, thanks for being so diplomatic about it, Will. I may be getting North and South confused...the side with the tunnel that leads to the Carson Center/Well Fargo Arena area is the North side isn't it?
And, if you are getting a signal there, I'm impressed, but I would assume that would be an ASU signal; and that might not be something that most people would have access to.
The rest of the info you give is nice, but I don't think any NFL games will be played in those places.
Bank One Ballpark will host the Insight Bowl again this year, and possibly next, but after that it will be played at Sun Devil Stadium. The Cardinals will be playing at their new stadium in Glendale at that point, and let's all hope we have a Photo Area and WiFi there. |

| ->> A note about the wireless at Giant's Stadium. The wireless router in the photo work room tends to lock up if there are more than five photogs transmitting at the same time. It will still show a signal, but there will be no connection to the internet. It will need to be reset. One of the techs has the tendency of coming in and accusing the photographers of having a virus infected computers, and then leaving without reseting the router. The press box is also wireless including the dining area. I have not heard of that router locking up. |
