->> Hassel, is this a new Metallic paper? I had some stuff printed on a Kodak metallic paper about 3 years ago, and it was awesome.

->> I thought it was new, but maybe not.

For once, Kodak's advertising is true. The pics really do have a 3D pearlescent look.

I've never printed on metallic paper. Do you prepare your digital files any differently for metallic paper? If so, what do you do?

->> Landon,
I haven't prepared them any differently. The paper seems to make colors pop more and B&W's have a reflective 3d type of look.

->> I have used the metal paper quite a bit and have found that it works best for me with Photoshop template team and individual photos. Regular game photos do not really look all that great with the metal paper, at least in my opinion. I am not sure if Kodak has a specific ICC profile to soft proof the metal paper, I just use the standard profile my lab sent me, process both regular paper and metal files the same and send them out. The photos look great.

->> I love the metallic paper!!! In sports action photos, you can really tell the difference if there is basically one player----it looks like it has somewhat of a 3-D effect like Kodak has promoted.
Very cool!!!

->> If your looking for paper that makes the color pop try Fuji Flex SuperGloss printed with the Chromira printer. It has the appearance of Cibachrome paper. Probably one of the best labs is West Coast Imaging. Their service is great and they also have an educational discount.

They also print the Kodak Endura Metallic on the Chromira. Special papers for B/W also.

The Chromira printer handles the profile you set in PS. However for soft proofing download the icc profile.

Using them is like the old high-end custom labs.
