->> A fellow shooter who is NOT a member os SS YET has asked me to post this for him:

It is with great sadness that I report that my friend and colleague for many years, George Reynolds, a veteran sports photographer for the Philadelphia Daily News, died today from cancer. George was 54, married and had two young daughters.

George was among the top sports photographers anywhere for most of his career and was to many of us in this profession, a good friend.

His untimely death, after being diagnosed with cancer only 5 days ago, is a terrible shock to all of us in the Philadelphia sports and news community. George will be greatly missed by those who knew him, worked side-by-side with him and loved him. Farewell to one of the best.

Tom Mihalek

Thanks,
Rhona

->> I was shocked to hear this today. I will never forget how he always would give a wink when you looked over to him, and I will never forget the look on his face after a great play happened. He was one of those sports photographers who just did not miss the key plays.

->> In the spirit of the VJ Lovero events for the benefit of VJ's sons are there any plans to do the same for George's daughters?

If the folks in Philly know of anything could they please post?

I did not know George personally or professionally, however, I can image he touched many lives and helped many of the shooters who worked in Philly or went through there on assignment.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and co-workers.

->> This is terribly sad, I had no idea George was sick. George always had a wonderful smile and clearly a great passion for what he did. He will certainly be missed in the community. My condolences to his family and friends.

->> Truly a sad day, so quick and so young. Being in the Philly area, I was accustomed to seeing his work in the paper but had never met him. My deepest sympathies to his family and another reminder to all that our days here are short and not to be wasted.
