Newark, Delaware-based freelance photographer from Bronx NY. Saquan Stimpson specializes in Photojournalism, Events and Commercial work. A photojournalist by training, he has since shifted his sights to Sports, combining a keen interest in Action and working with people with the lessons learned from years of experience with the ever-changing, unpredictable nature of photographing athletes and the games they play. His ability to adapt to fluid situations--whether they be unfamiliar locations, cantankerous subjects, rapidly-changing conditions, or neurotic handlers and publicists (or most often, a combination thereof)--has earned him the trust of editors.
I take the artisan's approach. Choose the best tools for the moment. Create something eternal. Be innovative. Stand on the shoulders of those that have come before; I blend in and avoid directing the action, capturing splendor and authenticity as they happen. I truly believe that there is beauty in the unscripted, that the truth of the moment is lost when the photographer intervenes.
