My name is Aaron Babcock, Owner/Publisher of Hail Varsity Magazine, in Lincoln, Nebraska. I'm a native of Auburn, Washington, but I've lived in the Midwest so long, that I've become accustomed to the hot summers and cold winters. So that should tell you something.
I've been playing with cameras since I was 12 years old, so I consider photography the backbone of my creativity. I've spent the majority of my career in the sports world. I attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney and graduated with a degree in communications. I worked as the sports information director for two years before moving down the road to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln athletic department. I developed a passion for the Big Red while living in Lincoln and handled publicity for volleyball, baseball and men's basketball.
I was fortunate enough to land the job as the Public Relations Director for the Kansas City Royals and spent six seasons traveling with the club. Needless to say I saw more than my fair share of games during that stretch. But I missed Lincoln. So I moved back to the land of the Huskers and started my own business, Barnstorm Creative Marketing. My business started centered around my background in publications and I landed the New York Yankees as my first client. I've been working with these great people for over three years and greatly appreciate everything they've done for me.
Since then, I've also taken over as the General Manager/Editor of Huskers Illustrated Magazine. This has allowed me to combine my love of photography, publications and of course the Huskers. I'm truly a lucky individual.
