Patrick Traylor's Message: This set is from the first three months of my six-month internship with The Hutchinson News in Hutchinson, Kansas, which I will complete at the end of December.

Thanks for looking.

I'm a May 2008 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Advertising from the College of Media. I spent a lot of my time during my college years shooting as a staff photographer (since 2005) with the Daily Illini, the independent student newspaper at UIUC. I was photography editor of the paper for part of 2007 before I went on a 6-month study abroad program in New Zealand. Starting in June 2007, I attended the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand and volunteered as a photographer for the student magazine, The Critic. Whilst backpacking through the mountains of that beautiful country I realized that I didn’t want to spend my life inside the office of an advertising agency, and that I enjoyed photojournalism way too much to stop. I've been chasing the dream ever since.
