| Chris Bolin's Message: |
Born in Winnipeg and raised on Kodachrome, Chris Bolin learned the pleasure of both camera and subject at the young age of ten when he took his first trip out of town.
As a PJ grad in 1999, opportunity took him to Toronto where he was a staff photographer for the National Post Newspaper. He has worked on extensive photographic projects in over 25 countries. From, Brazil to The Bahamas, The Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Venezuela, Mauritius, Kenya, India, Myanmar, and Vietnam, to name a few. He is on his fourth passport and the map is barely marked. A return trip to Africa and Chile are next on the itinerary.
He has been shot at, arrested, attacked by elephants, tear gassed, walked amongst the ruins of Ground Zero, spat on by a humpback whale, had dinner with Desmond Tutu, crashed in a hot air balloon, robbed at knifepoint and has only had to wear a suit twice. He has photographed the Pope, the Queen, and Jennifer Aniston all in one week – the same week that he had to don a tie.
His work has appeared in numerous publications including: The Globe and Mail, MacLeans Magazine, Getty Images, Newsweek, The South China Morning Post, Time Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Outpost Magazine, Lonely Planet Images, Explore Magazine, The LA Times, The Toronto Star, and Photo Life Magazine. He work is represented by First Light Images in Toronto and Lonely Planet Images in Australia.
