"This is our hangout," says Palmer of the local restaurant...The Vets-Welcome Home is a resident-owned and run sober house for homeless veterans recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Without any oversight, residents pay rent, perform chores and maintenance, and democratically make house decisions. Brooks Canaday's Message: I spent some time with veterans at the Vets-Welcome Home, an independently run sober home for recovering drug and alcohol addicts. The residents are amazing people and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to share their experiences.
