Graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1989 with a degree in photojournalism. Was the photo editor of the Montgomery Advertiser between November 1997 until 2006. Returned to the Advertiser in 2007 as a staff photographer. Awards include two Best of Gannett awards in 1995 and 1998, Photo of the Year awards in Mississippi in 1994 and 1995 and in Alabama in 1998, the Nikon 2000 National Motorsports Photographer of the Year award, the National Motorsports Press Association's Howard O'Reilly Award winner for photographer of the year in 2000, and 2005 Portfolio of the Year winner from the Associated Press Managing Editors. Has been married to wife Lisa since 1996.
