Image © 2011, Martin McNeil / ESPN || SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, FEBRUARY 25, 2011: As if travelling almost 11,000 miles around the world didn't kick my ass enough, my first experience of shooting surfing (of sorts) reminded me that my pale Scottish genetics can only handle about two hours of Australian sunshine before I start to get a slight lobster coloured tinge on my neck. Still, calling Bondi Beach your office for that time whilst watching the UFC's "Octagon Girls" learn to surf isn't really something to complain about.

*UPDATE* January 23 , 2012*
---------------------------------------

Jumping squarely on the bandwagon, I've decided to post a retrospective on the year 2011 with shots or assignments where I learned something. Some of what I learned was ironic, some funny, some challenging and others just - well you can judge for yourself.

Do be warned that my humour hasn't improved with age.

About me
---------------------------------------

I'm best known for shooting the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, though I cut my teeth doing live music, red carpet and celebrity event photography.

As a sideline I shoot portraiture, weddings and commercial projects too.
