| Ramon Purcell's Message: |
Born on the Canary Islands, Ramón Purcell has always had a love for photography. After graduating from college, Ramón began working in the surf industry and soon thereafter, began shooting action sports for several years.
Shooting for publications such as Longboard, Surfer, Surfing, Surfing Girl, and Surfers Journal, Ramón then segued into commercial photography, with work including such fields as, architectural, real estate, fashion, food & wine, lifestyle.
Ramón spent several years as a staff photographer for SG (Surfing Girl) Magazine traveling to tropical destinations around the world. He worked with the top name women of the surf industry at the best surf breaks of the oceans.
Ramón's client list includes sports action companies such as Billabong, Hurley, O'Neill, and Spy Optic, in addition to Hilton Hotels, McDonalds, Omni Hotels, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, as well many top name restaurants.
With a wide variety of assignments he has traveled to more than 55 countries across five continents, sharing beautiful and unique images from each excursion.
Ramón is a frequent contributer to a variety of magazines and is a member of ASMP sharing his insight with other photographers in the field.
Current Project Shown:
The building of the RTSC by Marine Group Boat Works based in San Diego. Focused on the construction of the US Navy's first bio fueled vessel. I have expanded the project to document the crew that spends so many hours crafting such a unique vessel.
