I just returned after traveling with President Bush as he made surprise visits to Iraq and Afghanistan this past weekend. The 43 hour roundtrip from Washington included flying more than 17,000 miles on Air Force One, with less than 15 hours on the ground (including shoe throwing!) We were given 24 hour advance notice of the trip.
Kabul smells funny in the winter.
