SUMMER INTERNSHIP AT THE STAR-LEDGER: FINALE - SUMMER AT A GLANCE
My short 12-week stint at the Newark Star-Ledger has come and gone. Here are a smattering of my favorites from a very busy summer. I wish I could give you a 20 picture gallery! Thanks to everyone in the photo/video department for making my tenure at the paper an enriching experience. I hope that our paths will cross again sometime soon.
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy.
I've resigned from my staff position as the chief photographer of the Aspen Daily News in Aspen, Colo. I am now a master's candidate in the Visual and Interactive Communication department at Syracuse Universitys S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. My studies focus on both editorial and commercial applications for photography (with an emphasis placed on multimedia storytelling). Im also working as a teaching assistant for the school. Although photojournalism is my calling, I have passion for action sports photography and am an avid skier and mountaineer. I will always strive to meld my love for the outdoors with my photographic vision.
My work has been published in several regional & national newspapers including The Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, the Seattle Times, the Anchorage Daily News, the Boston Globe, The L.A. Times, the Washington Post, USA Today and The New York Times. My wire clients include the Associated Press, Bloomberg News and SIPA Press. My magazine clients include The New Yorker (advertorial), Rolling Stone, Playboy (music section), Conde Nast Traveller, Aspen Magazine, Aspen Sojourner, Aspen PEAK, 5280, Powder, Skiing, Ski & Backpacker Magazine. I've also done some commercial work and event coverage for Related WestPac, Hestra Gloves, High Society Freeride Company, The Aspen Institute & the towns of Aspen and Snowmass Village.
When I'm not shooting, you'll most likely find me plotting my return to the Rocky Mountains for some skiing & snowboarding, biking & hiking or four wheeling.
I'm happy to shoot any editorial or commercial assignment and have a strong eye for capturing outdoor sports. I am familiar with both editorial and commercial deadlines.
