I photographed a memorial service today for 4 slain police officers from Lakewood, WA -- about twenty minutes south of Seattle.
The officers were gunned down in a local coffee shop while preparing to start their day.
The shooter, Maurice Clemmons, was freed on bail only a few days earlier, and was looking at life without parole if convicted of his last crime: child rape and assaulting a police deputy in an unrelated incident.
