On Ssturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, I had the opportunity to cover a whitewater kayaking study in the Chelan River Gorge which has, over the past 70 years, been a bypass reach. Under the new 50-year operating license given to Chelan County PUD, FERC ordered this study to see how feasible it would be to open the river to whitewater boating.
