It is not often I get to shot a sport I've never covered before, so I was looking forward to shooting wakeboarding, a sport that uses the speedboat's waves, or "wake," as a jumping off point to do their flips and tricks. It was tougher than I thought. They make one trip down and back the length of the marine stadium and then, hopefully, one last jump. Then that athlete is done for the day. If you missed the shot, or miss focus, there is no second chance. It's like covering a basketball game that last 40 seconds without any timeouts.
There are some that don't take the X Games seriously. I however have developed a new respect for the athletes of this particular sport.
