This past summer I spent a couple of weeks volunteering as a teacher for high school girls in The Gambia, west Africa. Leaning career skills and making money are paths to a better life, so I brought them some cameras and taught them how to set up and run a photography business. We now keep in touch online and their businesses are doing well.
Here's a few images from my time there. While my primary role was to teach, I also spent time documenting the area and making images the organization, Starfish International (www.starfishinternational.org), could use in their fundraising efforts.
