This year is starting to shape up be more weather coverage. This month I visited Mapleton Iowa a year after it was devastated by a tornado in April 2011.
Saturday I started out at the Husker spring game which was canceled due to the inclement weather. That is unheard of in Nebraska.
From the canceled game the staff set out trying to document the storms.
I personally traveled about 500 miles in two days, ending up in Thurman Iowa, a charming little town that was hit hard.

Hi, I am photojournalist in the midwest. My work has been seen from USA Today to national magazines. I am a staff photographer at the Omaha World-Herald and I also freelance work.
