I feel incredibly lucky to be able to bring a little bit of my old job to my new job when I started producing a weekly photo column in my new role as multimedia coordinator for BWH.
Eye on the Brigham, and its multimedia counterpart Eye (and Ear) on the Brigham, seeks out the people and places that make the hospital such a unique community of more than 12,000 to document.
My approach is the same as when I was a photojournalist and so far I have focused my camera on the departments more often out of the spotlight than in. Like the Food Service staff who prepares more than 1,000 meals a day for inpatients to BWH operators who field more than 1 million phone calls a year.
Other subjects include an out of the way circular staircase with a interesting history to an 80-year-old Eucharistic minister who brings a smile to all that she meets. Follow the link below to view an audio slideshow I produced on her weekly rounds.
