I recently had the opportunity to shoot with the new Mamiya DM33 medium format digital camera for a couple of weeks. Although I have shot MFD many times, I found this camera to be a quantum leap in producing fantastic images. It is a 33 megapixel version and I worked with the new Mamiya designed digital lenses, the 80mm and the 150mm.
This is a selection of images from the four photo shoots I did with the camera. Somewhat typical with what I do on a regular basis, the shoots ranged from producing PR pieces, magazine assignments and advertising.
Lighting was Profoto, accompanied with Pocket Wizards. Images were processed and compared in Lightroom and Leaf Capture, and my final determination was that Leaf Capture produced the best results when looking for the most accurate skin tones and color. It was also very fast and easy to use.
The Mamiya DM33 images processed in Leaf Capture produced the best out of the camera images I have ever shot. The camera itself was a joy to use.
