What?
459 days since an update! Holy crap, has it really been that long since I've left life at a daily newspaper? I guess so. Does that mean that I haven't shot a single thing worthy of my SportsShooter gallery? Heck no! I've just been busy. Super busy actually.
Weddings and portraits comprise most of my business now, but there have been plenty of freelance jobs over the last year to fill in the gaps. Soon, I plan on updating the gallery with a best of the last year, but right now I wanted to go ahead and share some photos from the Tennessee-Florida game.
I have to admit that one of the biggest things I missed about being a newspaper staffer was shooting college football. Last football season was the first in 10 years for me that I DID NOT get a chance to stain the knees on the lovely grass at Neyland Stadium, home of the Vols. I'm not going to lie... I have missed it.
Last Friday, I was contacted by a small magazine in Florida to shoot the Vols vs the Gators, easily one of the biggest rivalries in NCAA football. So I jumped at the chance. It was great to see some of my former colleagues and to get back in the action again (though I will admit, it took me a few minutes to get back in the swing of things). A little strange covering the visiting team in Neyland for once too. And a big thanks goes to Patrick Murphy-Racey for loaning me a lens to play with!
