Jim Stout's Message: Jim Stout is a veteran of 35 years of sports writing, editing and photography in the New York-New England region.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin College of Communications, Stout is presently the CBS Interactive MaxPreps Media Manager for the Eastern United States, as well as a photographer and columnist.

His territory at MaxPreps includes every state east of the Mississippi. Writers, photographers and media specialists are always welcome to inquire, as are those interested in the Hudl video editing and analysis suite.

He began his communications career in the mid-1970s, working as both a writer and photographer in Connecticut, then spent the next 15 years as a daily reporter and freelance writer covering the National Hockey League in the Northeast. He later moved into the Internet writing, editing and publishing fields in the late 1990s before returning to the photography medium in 2004.

Stout was a reporter and photographer for the Danbury (CT) News-Times from 1977 to 2006. He also covered the NHL for the Middletown (NY) Times-Herald-Record during the 1980s and early 1990s.

In addition, Stout served for a number of years as a Northeast columnist and photographer for D3Hoops.com and for D3Football.com, and was the founder and publisher of the former scholastic web site, JSportsline.com. More recently, he wrote for the Stamford (CT) Advocate.
