My son AJ has taken to paintball the past year. Recently he was telling some of his friends about my sports photography. They were asking about what I'd shot, when AJ quipped, "I think you don't have any paintball in your portfolio, do you Dad?"
Boy, that hit me hard as a father, and the following Saturday, I started shooting his paintball outings and his recent tournament. It's amazing how kids know how to push your buttons....

I'm a professor and chair of Communication Studies at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. I teach photojournalism and media convergence courses. WHAT? You don't know where Gardner-Webb is? Well we're just an hour west of Charlotte.
I currently serve as President of NPPA.
Additionally, I am on the Board of Directors of Christians in Photojournalism.
