Al Camp's Message: Oct. 11, 2016 Third month in a row I've entered the photo contest here. I think knowing I am going to enter has led to some interesting shots I might not have done otherwise. This months contest entries includes a cross country start I just kind of fell into trying to meld the clouds, the runners and the start.

I thank everyone stopping by, with more than 21,000 page views received since I joined in August of 2003 (and the two people who ask for updates and five who have me listed as a favorite, something not changed in many years).

I write, photograph, lay out pages and post to the Internet for sports in Okanogan and Ferry counties at The Omak-Okanogan County Chronicle in Omak. We cover 11 schools (Curlew, Republic, Oroville, Tonasket, Omak, Okanogan, Brewster, Pateros, Liberty Bell, Bridgeport and Lake Roosevelt. Also Inchelium and Mansfield as we can) plus all other sport events including rodeos (done more than 300 now) and outdoor activities.

We are the largest circulated weekly (published Wednesday and Sunday) newspaper in eastern Washington State. We are a full-color newspaper that's pressed at the Wenatchee World's world-class press about 100 miles south.

Omak is in northcentral Washington state, less than an hour south of the Canadian border.
