| Swikar Patel's Message: |
A New Jersey native, Swikar Patel is currently on staff as a photojournalist at The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne, Indiana and also a freelance photojournalist covering Northeast Indiana and surrounding areas.
He is always on the lookout for interesting assignments, especially those that lend themselves to a little creative freedom. At the beginning of 2013 Swikar began teaching a documentary photography class at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, where he shares his passion and inspiration for photojournalism with photography students.
In 2010 Swikar was the recipient of the NPPA Humanitarian Award where he helped save a child from a flipped vehicle.
