U.S. President Barack Obama spent the day in Canada on his first foreign trip since taking over the White House last month in Ottawa Thursday, February 19,2009
I was assigned to cover the airport for the Toronto Star.
My day looked like this:
3:45am - wake up
4:10am - leave my house
4:30am - board the bus from downtown
5:00am - arrive at airport
WAIT
8:00am - stand at my spot on the riser outside
WAIT
10:30am - obama arrives
10:35am - file
WAIT
4:00pm - go back outside, shoot his arrival
5:30pm - obama leaves
5:35pm - file
6:15pm - catch the bus downtown
7:00pm - home
Long day!
