The 2009 edition of the AMGEN Tour of California started Saturday in Sacramento under moisture laden skys. The leader going into the second stage which started in Davis, California had to pull out because of being too sick to go on. I started my day in the town of Angwin, California with a loop of the race route looking for possible shot locations. I decided to shoot photos at the crest of Howell Mountain Road about two miles from town.I arrived there with fellow Sportsshooter member Stephen Scharf about 45 minutes before the arrival of the first rider.In the end I shot 140 images in very trying conditions ie: very wet and cold. but all in all I had a great time and next year I think I will try shooting in the flat.
