Mike Ekern's Message: Borromeo Weekend. November 3-5. I was asked to document portions of the 40 hours of prayer that marked a celebration of the Eucharist and St. Charles Borromeo, patron saint of seminarians. And Catholic seminarians there were, from both the St. Paul School of Divinity and the St. John Vianney Seminary.

In a single evening, St. Mary's Chapel on the south campus of the University of St. Thomas held silence so thick that footsteps were thunder, and praise so fervent that the words and songs emanating from congregants made a fortress of sound.

The 40 hours of prayer ended the next morning with a mass.

Selected results of the evening and morning I spent in St. Mary's Chapel are here.
