Busted
Daniel Fernandez, 25 of El Monte, sits in the back of a squad car in Pomona after leading police on a high speed chase from Ontario. Ontario officers, who were watching a stolen vehicle near the intersection of Laurel and California Street about noon, saw Fernandez drive up in a stolen 1987 Mazda pickup truck said Ontario police Detective Al Parra. Police attempted to stop Fernandez but he sped away. Fernandez fled from police through Ontario, Montclair and into Pomona running stop signs and speeding before crashing into a telephone pole in the 200 block of east Kingsley Avenue, Parra said. Police arrested Fernandez after a short foot chase. He was taken to a hopital for a pain to his leg caused from the crash. He was later booked into West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of possessing stolen property, felony evading and violating parole.
