I was long overdue for an update. I am now a staff photographer at the Houston Chronicle. Today's only my eight day on the job, and, just like in Florida, my first full week of shooting has put me front-row in one of the biggest national stories of the year.

SOMETHING ABOUT A DATE.
In my life, transitional markers have happened on May17... in 1988 my great grandmother passed away, she was lonely after it had only been 5 months since my great grandfather passed away. in 1989 my family got onto a plane and headed to Los Angeles for the very first time in what changed my views, culture and beliefs for the rest of my life. In 2005 this great city of Los Angeles gets its first Latino Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa, in more than 132 years!!!!
