PLEASE READ! If you don't have the endorsement of an existing member in good standing, all is not lost. You can still join the site, but it's not going to be easy. Please fill out the form on this page, and supply as much of the information as possible. Your information will be sent to a review committee who will read your answers, view your images, and then make a decision.

The reviewers are comprised of working sports photographers, photojournalists and administrators of this site. In order to receive an invitation to join without a sponsor, your work should indicate that you can perform within the acceptable quality standards of the sports photography/photojournalism industry. This includes the same level of accurate, error-free, caption information that is expected in the industry.

Please understand that is a community of photographers and photo editors, and professionalism is expected of all members. The way in which you fill out this form will tell the review committee more than you may realize, so please take this process seriously.

Approximately 80% of the people who apply for membership without a sponsor are not accepted. Please keep this in mind - and if you are not accepted without a sponsor, please do not take it personally. We highly recommend that you read this story before you initiate the joining process. Once you have been approved by the review committee, you will be sent additional information regarding the next step in the process. Please note: If/when the committee approves your request, you will still need to go through the rest of the review process. You will be asked to provide information about yourself, upload up to 10 images, videos or interactive presentations. The cost is only $25 for one year of unlimited access. Your member page will not be launched until it passes the final review process conducted by the admin staff. Payment can be made via check, or with a credit card using PayPal. Payment details, and an official 'Welcome' note will be sent to you automatically once your membership has been approved.

Requirements for membership:
Step 1: You must first have the approval of a 'sponsor' (or pass the no-sponsor review process). If you do not have a 'sponsor', or have questions about this part of the process, please read this story.

Step 2: Once your chosen sponsor (or the no-sponsor review committee) approves your request, you will be automatically emailed instructions on how to complete the rest of the process. You will be asked to provide at least FIVE of your own images (600 pixels wide, 72 dpi, saved as JPEG in RGB mode), and one 50-by-50 pixel icon (saved as JPEG in RGB mode at 72 dpi.) Your images are expected to meet a level of quality that is consistent with that of the majority of the members of this site. In order for your membership to be accepted, your work should indicate that you can perform within, and understand, the acceptable quality standards of the sports photography/photojournalism industry.

If your membership application is not accepted, please do not be offended. Spend some time on this website and get a feel for the level of quality and professional standards maintained by our members, and try again with your new and improved images.
