"Immigrant Farm Workers"     [index] Next ->>
Farm Worker 1 Copyright Jim Urquhart Mexican immigrant Manuel Gaytan works a peach orchard with approximately 2,000 trees in Willard, Utah. Gaytan has lived in a cinder-block shack of a home on the land he has worked for over 12-years. He makes less than eight dollars an hour nurturing and harvesting the fruits and vegitables sold at stands that have made the region famous. As he is aging he has continued to work without health insurance or a retirement plan in order to support his family and provide charity to children in Mexico. Jim Urquhart/Salt Lake Tribune
