Allen's Anguish
A blood stain sweeps across the left side of the door screen of Allen’s tent after he slit his left wrist July 30. That was the night Melissa left him. Alerted by her, Laurel police found Allen and took him to Laurel Regional Hospital to receive a blood transfusion. “I don't really want to die, I don't think,” Allen says later. “Cutting is just the only way that I know how to deal with the pain of her being gone.”
