This year The Cougar Mountain Classic, was also the home of the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships which are usually held at Mammoth Mountain, but were moved because of too much snow in Mammoth. The competition hosted mountain bike championship races in the Downhill, Cross Country, Mountain Cross, and a 6 hour endurance race. Sonoma, California. July 16, 2006.
