My sports photography passion is short-track racing. In the polished, sanitized world of modern motorsports, the weekend-night dirt track is pure Americana.
Many of the machines are low-tech compared to an F1 racer, but watching something like Outlaw Sprint Car put down 800HP in a 1400lb package, a late model stock car using every rule of Newtonian physics to perform ridiculous contortions in the name of speed, where the traction control is in the right foot and the telemetry is in the seat of the pants...there's nothing better.
