A pedestrian uses the spiral staircase on the exterior of the Swenson Science Hall on the University of Minnesota-Duluth campus Thursday. The staircase is a right leaning double helix mimicking the structure of human DNA. The grand opening of the $36 million science facility is Friday, on schedule despite large-scale vandalism that occurred last October.
