"Home-Brew Ring Light"     [index] <<- Previous Next ->>
Example 2 Finally, in a 4 a.m. self-portrait I'm sure I'll regret making public, a real person lit with the home-brew ring light. Looks real to me! The verdict: If you're doing fashion photography every week, get a real ring light. The home-brew unit is somewhat clumsy to deal with, since you have to hand hold the rig up to the lens every time you shoot. However, if you think you'd benefit from the ring light effect once or twice a year and don't want to shell out a thousand dollars for a real unit, this is definitely a viable option.
