Comments | [06/28/07] I have owned this lens since 2002, I must say that it's one of the sharpest lenses I own, very fast, quiet and reliable. IMHO it's a must have lens for any Nikon user. I never used it on my Film Cameras, but it rocks on Digital.

Comments | [06/23/07] I've had mine for years since the film days. Big piece of glass. Works well with the overlap of a 17-35mm f/2.8. But now with digital, I tend to use the 17-55 instead of carrying two lenses. I'd give it a 10 if it weren't so BIG.

Comments | [06/17/07] No reviews for this yet? I just picked mine up and have used it for two weeks. Overall, this to be one of Nikon's best lenses. Contrasty, sharp, fast, I'd like to have a few more mm on the wide end , but then Nikon would have trouble pushing their 17-55, wouldn't they?! The AF is very fast and works well on the D2Hs and D70s. All actions are smooth and quiet. It's an expensive lens, but well worth it if you need a fast, f2.8 mid range zoom
