Comments | [06/19/13] Built like Ft. Knox. Supurb performer with all of Nikon's 70-200, 300 and 400 models as well as, I'm assuming, 500 and 600 fixed lenses. It fared well even with the 200-400 zoom. Only knock is the lack of sealed gaskets, therefore it gets a 9.

Comments | [01/08/13] This lens is a must for every sports photographer. You only lose one stop while you get (for instance) a 420mm f4 using it in conjunction with a 300 mm f2.8, AF performances not affected. It's built as a tank and very sharp even at full aperture, just pay attention if shooting in backlight. Don't miss this little piece of equipment, you won't regret the money.

Comments | [01/30/12] Limited reach, but it works like a charm with the 70-200mm 2.8 AF-S VR and with the 300mm 2.8. Maintains VR with former, making it a usable 280mm f/4.
