The Sports Shooter Workshop & Luau is a perfect event for students to learn from the top photographers in the business. Speakers will cover technique, the philosophy behind the great images seen in the top newspapers and magazines and tell you little behind-the-scenes stories and tidbits about their work. We allow working professional photographers to attend as well. Not a "hands on" environment, but a good place to learn the block-and-tackle issues of working photographers. No bullshit here, this is a place where you learn what a working professional does for a living... |

[07/03/03] Bring your loudest Hawaiian shirt, a big, fat empty notebook and lots of questions. You can learn from some of the best in the biz at this workshop/party. Be ready to lose sleep and get inspired at this very student-friendly gathering. |

[11/12/02] The Luau is just plain ol' FUN! And for the students, it's free! It's probably the best, (well, almost the best), $75 bucks I've spent in a long time.
If you get the chance to go, you won't be sorry. C-ya next year! |

[11/11/02] GO GO GO!!! You'll learn as much in 24 hours as you would in an entire year of school. From lighting techniques to business practices for the freelancer (which you will all be doing at some point in school). Couple that with some candid portfolio reviews and you'll have a killer time.
Besides, if you are the stereotypical broke college student, what would you rather do; go to a free workshop or spend $1300+ to go to Clarkson? |

It was a great opportunity to meet people and make contacts. Most importantly, the event was fun. I had a great weekend and am looking forward to next year! |
