Notes | Scott Kelby's Digital Photography for Pro's is aimed at the professional photographer who is making the switch from traditional to digital photography. Digital photography is one of the fastest-growing tech markets and this book offers solutions to photographers in the digital world. Designed for the digital photographer who knows aesthetics but who wants a concise guide to "grip it and rip it" usage of digital technology. Comments | [05/08/03] I saw a pre release of this book at Photoshop World earlier this year and paid for my pre-ordered copy almost a month in advance! It has so many techniques for solving real world photography problems that I feel it's a must. And unlike so many other Photoshop books I have that are lots of theory, this one leads you through step by step. I attended lectures by most of the contributing authors of the book at Photoshop world and they are real working professional photographers who use this stuff every day.

Comments | [03/31/03] If you want any guide to managing digital files with photoshop 7, this is it. It is shown using Mac OSX, though he mentions pc shortcuts. It has the latest techniques including extensive File Browser techniques and a few things on Adobe Raw. It has ways to lessen digital noise and aliasing, and it has multiple ways to sharpen images the right way. I could go on and on, but it overall it covers just about everything. And to benefit most of you, he gives you real numbers as guides to get started, like numbers he uses in unsharp mask, and numbers to start with using gaussian blur techniques. Its great, i'm telling you. -Denis
