Columbia Missouri Fire Department Battalion Chief Dean Martin cradles 3-year-old golden retriever Phoenix after she was pulled from the icy waters of Twin Lakes in Columbia, Mo on January 11, 2002. The dog fell into water at the center of the lake while chasing geese and was rescued after a passer-by dialed 911.
