Troutman 2005 || Salinas, CA - 7/9/05 – Americans Nicky Hayden and John Hopkins navigate the “Corkscrew” during Saturday qualifying. Red Bull Suziki rider Hopkins was frustrated after being in second position right up until the final moments of qualifying and then dropping back to sixth on the grid well behind polesitter Hayden. “I’m definitely disappointed. I don’t want to be sitting on the second row, I want to be on the front. I gave it my all and did everything I could. Now it’s up to me to go out, get a good start and haul ass.”
