Toughing it out
Image © D.M. Troutman 2005 || Salinas, CA - 7/8/05 – Ducati Team rider Loris Capirossi heads out of the garage and onto the course Friday while suffering from a nasty attack of gastroenteritis. He missed most of the afternoon session but qualified on the fifth row Saturday and scored a gritty tenth place finish in the race after battling past several riders. “I’m pretty happy with this race, considering the fact that I’ve been sick all weekend,” he said. “I wasn’t 100% sure about the rear tire I chose because I didn’t have enough time to test it fully during practice. But the tire was good until the last few laps when I felt a little vibration and eased off a bit.”
