Troutman 2005 || Salinas, CA - 7/10/05 – A record sellout crowd of 57932 motorcycle racing fans crammed onto the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca facility Sunday for the Red Bull United States Grand Prix MotoGP race. The overwhelming success of the event poured an estimated 50 million dollars into the local economy and exceeded all attendance expectations. "I had projected a certain amount of ticket sales in the first 90 days (following the event announcement)” said Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca CEO/General Manager Gill Campbell. “That number went out the window in 27 days. At that point, we began to conceive we might realize these kinds of numbers." 153,635 people attended the three day event.
