The SportsShooter.com Monthly Clip Contest
 Members can enter. Members can judge. Members can't vote for themselves.
That's right - Thanks to the generosity of Canon, there is a SportsShooter.com Monthly Clip Contest. Members enter their images on the first 15 days of each month, and judge the images starting on the 16th. The grand prize is the beloved camera of the professional photographer: The Canon EOS 1DX. The Second Place finisher will receive a high-end Canon Pixma PRO-1 printer. Third Place winner will take home a Canon EOS 7D digital camera.
Any SportsShooter.com member in good-standing can enter up to 6 images per month in any of four categories (Sports Action, Sports Feature, News, and Feature.) The images must have been shot sometime in the previous month, and they don't need to be published.
To enter and/or judge, members need to log in to the SportsShooter.com member's area and find the link to the Clip Contest area.
The first two weeks of the month are the 'entry period' and the last two weeks are the 'judging period.'
Simple right?

The Sports Shooter Newsletter Annual Contest
The Sports Shooter Newsletter has held an annual photo contest every year since 1998. This contest is open to everyone (you don't have to be a member of SportsShooter.com) with the deadline falling every January at midnight Pacific time on Super Bowl Sunday.
Thanks to our many fine sponsors we have been able to give away fabulous prizes ranging from camera bags to digital cameras.
There are usually four to five categories that change every YEAR depending on the Olympics, etc. There is also a student portfolio category that was started in 2000 that has become very popular.
