The Sunset drive-in theater has been open since 1950 and remains as a popular weekend event for the locals and tourists. At the end of the 60's, more than 220 were in operation. Today, drive-ins operating within California have declined by 90% with little more than 20 that remain open. Drive-In theaters today were not as they used to be with the flourishing business. Their declining in popularity and die-hard fans, which are few, keep coming back to help support the local theater from closing. |

- A little while ago I did a picture story on the Southern California Drive-In's. It was a great experience where I met some amazing individuals. Here is my tribute to one of the last historical greats of the U.S. The drive-in theater.
